Created to mark 15 years of Aries Cerat, the Quindecim is a very special amplifier from Stavros Danos. Its name translates to “fifteen” in Latin, a reference both to the anniversary and to its 15 watt output.
Built around Aries Cerat’s NOIES technology and the superb E130L medium pentode tube, the Quindecim is a low-gain, single-stage, single-ended amplifier with remarkable transparency, body and natural sweetness.
While its 15 watt rating may appear modest on paper, it significantly understates the amplifier’s real-world drive. In our Richmond showroom, the Quindecim has comfortably filled our 6 x 13 metre listening space with 88 dB loudspeakers, producing music with ease, scale and authority.
The Quindecim is not intended as a universal amplifier for every system. With selectable gain of 2 dB or 8 dB, it is designed to be partnered with a strong preamplifier and is especially well suited to high-gain systems where purity, immediacy and musical engagement are the priority.
